Christian KitchenThe Christian Kitchen gathers clothing, items of need, and prepares home-made meals for distribution to men and women who are poor and/or live on the streets of Long Island and Manhattan. The ministry is more than feeding people, it's about sharing the Light of Christ with those who have little or nothing of their own. Prayer Ministry Offering prayers to God is not limited to the scheduled divine services. There are always people in need of prayers, and members of Holy Trinity regularly pray at home and in small groups to ask for intercession on behlaf of the parish family, the local East Meadow community here on Long Island, and the church at large. Youth & Teens Ministry The youth and teens of Holy Trinity are more than the future, they are also the present! What better way to involve the teens of our parish than by providing them with a place to meet, enjoy fellowship, and grow closer to each other through Jesus Christ? College Students Even before our youth graduate from High School, we want to help them stay connected to the Orthodox Church not just here in East Meadow, but also near the college or university they are attending. With major institutions of higher learning here on Long Island, we also welcome college students into our community and hope to establish a local OCF chapter to further meet their spiritual needs. Sisterhood The Sisterhood supports the programs of the parish through 'behind the scenes' work. But this long-standing organization is about more making the church and hall look beautiful - it also serves as a way for the women of the parish to support each other and care for other women of the community. Seniors Ministry As members of Holy Trinity enter their golden years, our parish remains an important part of their lives. To help seniors maintain their connection to church, the Senior Ministry assists with transportation arrangements for services, events, fellowship gatherings. They also provide support for the needs of home-bound parishioners. Outreach The Outreach Committee develops ways for the parish to increase awareness of Orthodox Christianity in the local community through a variety of methods including resources, involvement in faith-based projects in East Meadow, and participating in acts of charity. The committee ensures resources are available for both members and guests. Gift ShopWhen you're in need of a spcial item to give as a present, visit the Sisterhood's Gift Shop! Do you need an icon for your home? Your car or office? With a wide selection of religious items, the Gift Shop is open after most liturgical services and during parish functions. |
