Akathistos Hymn to the Mother of God: Joy of All Who Sorrow

During times when members of the Holy Trinity parish family are critically ill, the prayer ministry group will celebrate a prayer vigil, typically an Akathistos Hymn to the Mother of God.

The prayer vigil consists of members committing to chosing a time of day: morning, afternoon, or night to pray the Akathist to the Theotokos, Joy of All Who Sorrow. The service is therefore offered continuously throughout the day.

For those with limited time, the Akathistos can be prayed in sections, for instance, pray 2 or 3 Ikoi and Kontakia a day, along with the beginning and ending prayers. Typically, the Akathist can be prayed in about 20 minutes.

May God, through the prayers of His Most Holy Mother, comfort and strengthen us in our time of need!

Please contact frmartin@htocem.org to participate in the next prayer vigil asking for intercession from the Most Holy Mother of Our Lord.
